Elisa Biagini (born in Florence, 1970) lived in the United States where she received a Ph. D. from Rutgers University, and taught (at Rutgers, Columbia University, and New York University). Currently, she teaches Writing at NYU- Florence. She has published seven collections of original poetry and various Italian translations of contemporary American poets. Her own works have led her to be invited to important poetry festivals, such as: “Stanza-Scotland’s International Poetry Festival,” “Dubai International Poetry Festival,” “poesiefestivalberlin,” and more. Biagini’s work has been translated into twelve languages; The Guest in the Wood (Chelsea Editions, 2013)won the 2014Best Translated Book Award .
