“See you then,” Zack said nervously.

Before he could batter an eyelid, Octavian had disappeared and the hall started to come to life.

Zack was suddenly part of a buzzing, colorful scene and once again he just stood there in the hall for minutes like a statue, taking it all in. The elevators darted up and down in the glass tubes; the airship ascended with whirring propellers and drifted out through the gigantic opening; another one passed it from the opposite direction, landed, and opened its doors, allowing people to flood in over the ramp like a colony of ants. At the fountain a boy with a sword was sitting next to a girl with extremely long, plaited hair that dangled into the water. A group of people were chatting next to the illuminated columns that surrounded the
