Sandrine Collette (b. 1970 in Paris, France) completed doctoral studies in political science and later directed courses at the University of Nanterre. After being advised by a friend to write novels, she began publishing in 2013 with her first novel Des nœuds d’acier , which won the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière. She draws a lot of inspiration from forests, the mountains, and rural settings, focusing on human relationships with nature.

Ilija Trojanow (b. 1965 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian-German writer and translator. He began writing non-fiction and travel books in the 1990s, and he later published his first novel in 1996. He has won several prizes including the 1996 Marburg Literature Prize, the 2000 Adelbert von Chamisso Prize, and the 2000 Leipzig Book Fair Prize. In addition to a large amount of publishing in German, he also published a novel in 2006 in English.

Philip Burton TE23-04

Loranne Vella (b. 1972 in Victoria, Gozo, Malta) began as an English and drama teacher at St. Aloysius College. After leaving Malta in 2005, she worked as a translator for the European Parliament. While at university, she helped form a group that combined literature, photography, and performance, which later influenced her when writing Rokit . In addition to Rokit , Loranne Vella has also translated children’s stories from French and Spanish into Maltese, and in 2019, she collaborated with artist Trevor Borg to publish her own original children’s story.

Philip Burton (b. 1904 in Mountain Ash, UK) taught English and drama in Lancashire England throughout his life. Despite being dyslexic as a child, he has written a ton of poetry, with over three hundred and seventy of his poems having been published in various literary magazines. A poem about dyslexia led to him winning the 2020 Poetry Society Stanza competition. He has also led and developed hundreds of poetry days for schools and adult learners in England.
