DAYS 1-8 OSLO, NORWAY, TO SPITSBERGEN AND THE GREENLAND SEA From Oslo, a private charter flight brings you to Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen’s largest settlement. Embark the Ocean Adventurer and begin your explorations of Spitsbergen, a realm of abundant wildlife and austere beauty. You’ll visit spectacular glacier fronts, steep-walled fjords, and wind- swept tundra, with walrus, polar bear, and Spitsbergen reindeer among the possible wildlife sightings. Birders will be thrilled to see Arctic terns, skuas, long-tailed ducks, kittiwakes, and glaucous and ivory gulls. As an added bonus, when conditions are right, you might sail within 10° of the North Pole! Continue your voyage with a cruise through the historic Greenland Sea.

DAYS 9-15 GREENLAND’S REMOTE EASTERN COAST TO REYKJAV Í K While exploring Greenland’s remote eastern coast, enjoy Zodiac cruises and shore visits, visit the remains of ancient Thule settlements, and keep an eye out for grazing musk oxen—40% of the world’s population lives here. Finally, you’ll sail through spectacular Scoresbysund, the birthplace of many icebergs and arguably the most beautiful fjord system in the world. If conditions allow, you may also visit Ittoqqortoormiit, the most remote community in East Greenland. Sail the Denmark Strait to Iceland. Your Expedition Team keeps you informed with presentations about the history of exploration in the Arctic and the seabirds soaring above your ship. Disembark in Reykjavík.
