ATCEMS Motor Medics Compete In the Capitol of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out

Our very own Motor Medics are participating in the Capitol of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out.

The Chute out is a Fundraising Event, Training, and Skills Competition put on by six of our regional LE agencies, and this is going to be our second year participating.

It takes place in the parking lot behind Cabela’s in Buda, so if you’re in the area, go check it out and cheer on your colleagues.

Three of our best riders, Shed Cheeks, Jeff Gaytan, and Patrick Jacobsen will be representing our department this year.

The event takes place Wednesday February 27th through Saturday March 2nd. Riders will be practicing different obstacles and skills all day. Below are the times for the events.

Thursday 2/28 1300-1500 - The Eliminator This is a head to head, “last rider standing” type competition. Two riders go into an obstacle in a follow the leader formation, and try to get the other one to hit a cone or put a foot down before the clock runs out.

Friday 3/1 0730-1200 - The Memorial Challenge This is a cone course that you don’t get to practice. Riders go in cold, and they only get one shot at it. Historically, after riding the cones, you get off the bike and go through a simulated shooter house.

Last year somebody told Luke Mueller that he, “shoots real good for a guy with a pocket full of bandaids.”

Friday 1400-1700 - Competition Begins on Courses A & B This is the main event. Half the competitors ride course A and the other half ride course B. They’re riding for the fastest time, and knocking down a cone or putting a foot down adds penalty time to their ride. Smooth is fast- but also fast is fast…so.

Saturday 3/2 0900-1200 - Competition on Courses A & B This is the other half of the main event. Competitors ride the course they didn’t ride on Friday. Times from both courses are added together, and that’s your score.

Saturday (throughout the day) - Slow Ride Challenge Competitors ride as slow as possible through a cone course. Your time stops when you put a foot down or ride out of the course. Ever seen a Harley stand still on 2 wheels for 10 minutes?

Hope to see you out there! Email or text with questions. Thanks for your support.
