Interesting fun facts about the month of September The month kept its original name from the Roman calendar in which septem means “seven” in Latin marking as the seventh month. September was named during a time when the calendar year began with March, which is why its name no longer corresponds with its placement in the Julian calendar.
Until Julius Caesar’s calendar reform of 45BC, September had only 29 days.
There are 30 days in the month of September, which starts on the same day of the week as December each year but does not end on the same day of the week as any other month in the year.
September is the only month with the same number of letters in its name as the number of the month: it is the ninth month and has nine letters.
September is a very memorable month as far as medical Industry is concerned. This was the month when BAND-AID was invented.
The name “United States” came into existence in the month of September on 9th, 1776. Originally, it was referred to as the United Colonies, but the old name was changed with the effort of the Continental Congress. On the 5th of September, 1874, the very first Continental Congress took place.
