Exhaust Retarder

Exhaust retarder, EPG Activating the switch (1) automatically engages the exhaust retarder when the accelerator pedal (2) is released. An air pressure is directed to the EPG (3). The braking effect is achieved during the exhaust stroke as the EPG restricts the exhaust flow and creates a pres- sure between the piston and the EPG valve.
