Northwest State Community College 2021 Annual Report

Reaching MILESTONES

50th Anniversary COVID-19 may have delayed the larger-scale celebration of our 50 years of service, but NSCC was still able to hold its anniversary event in 2021. Under a large tent, a two-day celebration included a formal introduction of our 8th President, Dr. Todd Hernandez, a send off for our outgoing 7th President, Dr. Michael Thomson, and a recognition of our first graduating class. The weekend provided perfect weather for the occasion, and allowed all guests to reflect fondly on their favorite memories while at Four County Technical Institute, Northwest Technical College, and/or Northwest State Community College.

Farewell Dr. Michael Thomson! (Outgoing 7th President)

First Graduating Class of 1971

Welcome Dr. Todd Hernandez! (Incoming 8th President)

The second day honored our 2020 and 2021 Distinguished Alumni, and celebrated our student achievements at the Spring 2021 Commencement. 190 graduates were recognized, comprising a total of 202 awards (168 associate degrees and 34 short-term certificates). Five students graduated with an associate degree via College Credit Plus before they officially graduated high school, 24 graduates were Phi Theta Kappa, 20 were Alpha Delta Nu (nursing), and one was Kappa Beta Delta (business).
