Osburn manufactures aluminum sign blanks to the standard Federal MUTCD speci cations. Our process starts with a coil of aluminum that is then attened, leveled and cut to length. We apply the radii and punch the appropriate mounting holes. It is then chemically treated to ASTM B449. After that, the blanks are packaged and ready for shipment. We manufacture blanks from the standard Alloy 5052 H-38 in a thickness of .063” , .080” , .100” and .125”. We feel this is the most speci ed and best performing alloy used for tra c signs and can provide certi cation with shipment. There are other alloys available but we do not think the diminished performance is worth the pennies of savings. We can custompunch and radius to your state or local speci cation we provided. When ordering blanks, it is standard to request them horizontal dimension by vertical dimension. this helps to ensure that you get exactly what you need. Please remember triangle-shaped blanks are measured to each point in the federal manual before the radius is cut. This means that a 30” yield blank will not quite measure 30” after it has a radius applied.
