rogue. In this role Russ Palmer won the audience over with a sleazy charm and found the humour in the songs “You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket Or Two” and “Reviewing the Situation”. The workhouse boys, and Fagin’s little pickpockets, were the big plus of the production. They were well rehearsed disciplined and never lost character. Zofia Garbacz had her moments as the head of Fagin’s tribe as the Artful Dodger. Dodger befriends Oliver, played by Theo Simpson. It is Oliver’s show, from asking for more, through all of Oliver’s exploits Theo captured the character pulling at the heart strings. All the hard work of the cast and creative team paid off resulting in an entertaining production with lots of Dickensian flavour.
