ACT Reviews 2022-2023 Season

Elle Woods where we find out there is more to her than meets the eye. The court room scene with the production number “Gay or European” was well received. K Ellis was Warner Huntington 3rd, the boyfriend who dumps Elle. He delivered all the charm and smarminess of a ‘90s male chauvinist. He was disliked by the audience for all the right reasons. Warner’s new Harvard girlfriend, Vivienne, was played with Harvard snobby chic by Victoria Carney. Elle’s friend is Paulette Buonufante, the beauty salon manager. Playing this role Clare Moorhouse filled the stage with her characterisation. Clare was humorous and original, and nearly stole the show, having a huge chunk of the show’s comedy. “Bend and Snap” was raunchy, a comic highlight, and the business with the delivery man, “I’ve Got a Package”, “Omigod You Guys!” Great fun.
