540 1864 (25 June) An incoming cover from England to Amoy, China, via Marseille, bearing England QV 4d vermilion and 6d lilac in pair, both tied by duplex ‘NE/16’ cancel, matching ‘LONDON/25.6.64’ cds alongside, total rate 1 shilling 4d, 1/2 oz. from 1st June 1863 to 1st Jan 1872. On reverse with ‘HONG KONG/5.8.64’ transit in blue. with edge faults and age spotting, an early incoming cover from England to Amoy. Photo HK$ 6,000 - 7,000

541 1878 (9 May) An incoming cover from England to Foochow, China, via Brandis, bearing England QV 4d sage green in pair, tied by duplex ‘C93’ cancel, matching the ‘TWIDKENHAM/9.5.78’ cds alongside, on reverse with double ring ‘HONG.KONG/ SINGAPORE TO HONG KONG/MARINE SORTER/8.6.78’ transit, and small single ring ‘FOOCHOWFOO/19.6.78’ arrival cds, the 8d rate was effective from 1st April 1877 to 1st April 1879 for 1/2oz, via Brandis, this rate was only used for a short period of time.
