1269 1943 (28 Jan.) A Japanese occupation cover from Hong Kong to Syonansi (昭南市 ) the Japanese Marshal changed Singapore’s name to Syonansi after invading Singapore on 15th Feb. 1942. Bearing Japanese 5sen, tied by ‘HONG KONG’ Japanese type cancellation, missing back flap, with 2 separated contents, written in English and Japanese. The Japanese stamps were introduced in HK postage system in 1943, this is an early cover sent to overseas. Tropical toning. Photo HK$ 3,500 - 4,000
