Tommy Fitzpatrick recently had new work on display in the viewing room at Inman Gallery in Houston. [3] In addition, Tommy had a large painting acquired by the Toyota Corporation as well as The Lancaster Hotel in Houston. Tommy had a large painting acquired by Gibson Dunn in Houston for their permanent collection.

Kathleen McShane Bolton was in To Time! a group exhibition including Brenda Goodman, Ellen Phelan, and Jim Shrosbree at Paul Kotula Projects Gallery, Detroit. Adrienne Butler had a group of new prints shown at Austin Public Library Ruiz Branch as part of Print Austin . The work was on view from January 15 to February 15. [1] Jimmy Canales was selected for the 2018-2019 Blue Star Contemporary Berlin Residency at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien. Jeff Davis has received brand identity commissions to design trademark and brand implementation from Texas Medical Center for the Texas Science Data Consortium in Houston, for the Secret Oyster Society of Galveston Island in conjunction with Mardi Gras Galveston, for the Lower Colorado River Authority’s First Annual LoCo Trash Bash in Austin, for Lancaster Hotel in Houston, for Speedy Boy Coffee at the Lancaster Hotel in Houston, for Green Shield Solutions, an energy remediation company in Houston, and for Lake Austin Ales in Austin. He has been commissioned to design and coordinate a ceramic tile pavement for the lobby of Pancie Perugini Ware Public Relations offices in Houston. He was chosen as a jury panelist for the South by Southwest Innovation Awards in Austin. Jeff Dell’s recent body of work Future Castles opened on March 3rd with Three Walls Gallery in San Antonio. It was up until the end of March. Jeff was a visiting artist at the University of Minnesota over our spring break, both to give a lecture and to produce a print with the graduate students. Erina Duganne, Mark Menjivar , and Jason Reed’s project Northern Triangle opened at the Mayborn Museum, Baylor University this month. [2]

Every semester, the University Galleries presents the work each student earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the School of Art and Design. These exhibitions are a requirement for graduation as part of the thesis curriculum. Each exhibition surveys the work from all

Margo Handwerker’s interview about Texas State Galleries’ spring programming was highlighted on KTSW (89.9) The Other Side of Radio. Brian Johnson has been awarded a juror’s prize for his two screen-prints included in the 38th National Print Exhibition at Artlink Contemporary Gallery. Brian has been awarded an Honorable Mention for a print included in the 31st Annual McNeese Works on Paper Exhibit ; the show was juried by Ben Hickey, Curator at the Hilliard University Art Museum. [3] Brian has designed, drawn and screen printed a limited edition commemorative print for the Centennial celebration of the Woodbury County Courthouse in Sioux City, IA. The Courthouse features an ornate Prairie School style architecture and is designated a National Historic Landmark. He was a visiting artist at the University of South Dakota in late April. Brian has two screen-prints included in the IMPRINT Contemporary Printmaking exhibit at Manifest Gallery, in Cincinnati. The show will consist of 54 works by 30 artists from across the United States, as well as Italy, Finland, and England; Manifest Gallery received 436 entries from 144 artists for this exhibit. He has a relief print included in the 19th Annual 60 Square Inches Exhibition at Purdue University’s Fountain Gallery. MiHyun Kim is invited to speak at 2018 UCDA (University & College Designers Association) Design Education Summit on May 21st at Youngstown University in Ohio. Her presentation topic is Interaction Design: Left Brain and Right Brain (Computational Thinking vs Design Thinking). MiHyun was invited to participate in a Design Edu Today podcast. Design Edu Today is supported by AIGA, the Professional Association for Design and the AIGA Design Educators Community.
