Method of use of equipment for working at height Use of ladders - For bridging a certain height - For carrying out light and short-term work Rules for using ladders for light work - The ladder has been approved and has an inspection sticker. - Standing height less than 5 meters - Standing time less than 2 hours - Force exertion less than 50 Newton (N) (5 kg) - Range up to an arm's length - Do not use ladders above wind force 6 - Secure long ladders (> 25 rungs) against slipping Set up at an angle of approximately 75 degrees Secure the bottom against sinking or slipping Ladder must extend at least 1 meter above the area to which the ladder provides access Place the ladder on a solid surface, not backwards or upside down - Keep rungs and ladder shoes clean; do not climb ladders with slippery or dirty soles - Climb facing the ladder - Keep access to ladder free of obstacles - Block a door or passage behind the ladder - Place metal ladders at least two meters away from live parts - Have three points of contact with ladder: two feet, one hand; two hands, one foot Rules for building and changing scaffolding - Competent supervisor present during construction work - Stability calculation of the scaffolding (scaffolding) and instructions for assembly or conversion available - Only trained scaffolding builders/scaffolding technicians may assemble scaffolding - - Secure at the top against sideways slipping - - Safety measures (ladders) -
Safety measures (standing scaffolding) -
Do not change the construction of the scaffolding (scaffolding).
- Do not leave any materials or tools on the scaffolding floor - Do not work on stairs or ladders placed on scaffolding - Do not load more than the maximum load stated on the scaffold card Function of the specific drawing (formerly scaffold card) - Indicates the maximum allowable load - Indicates whether scaffolding (scaffolding) may be entered - Indicates whether the scaffolding (scaffolding) has been inspected and until when the inspection is valid Safety measures Suspension bridge installation (formerly hanging scaffolding) - The operator is not allowed to leave when there are people in the hanging scaffolding and the operator is not on the hanging scaffolding itself - Leave the scaffolding in the event of malfunctions - Not left ready for use and unattended - If there is no or limited eye contact between the operator and persons on the suspended scaffold, use aids for communication - Do not exceed maximum load - Test first before use - Persons on the hanging scaffold must wear a safety harness that is hooked to a special attachment point - Secure the area under the scaffolding (scaffolding) with tape or fences - Only abandoned if supported on a solid surface Safety measures (mobile scaffolding) - Block all wheels before climbing - Climb from the inside - Bring materials and tools upstairs in a safe manner - Keep the work floor tidy
