1 MAINS DIGITAL JOULEMETER BASIC can be used to measure the power and energy consumption of a wide range of mains devices (up to a maximum power of 3750 W). The display shows values of voltage (V), current (A), power (W), frequency (Hz) and energy (kWh). It is straightforward to use, and simply pressing one of the buttons changes the display to show the quantity selected. There are many useful activities on measuring power that can be done quickly in the classroom, for example, looking at the difference between ordinary and energy-efficient light bulbs, or at the power reduction when a computer is switched into standby mode. The monitor can also be used over longer periods of time to measure total energy consumption, for example, the energy needed to run a refrigerator and whether this depends on how full it is or on the temperature of the room. Cat No. Description Price Per HEM-250-100 Mains Digital Joulemeter - Basic 26.39 ea. 2 DIGITAL JOULEMETER - STANDARD A robust and simple to use Joulemeter with autoranging LCD display. The units in which the values are displayed change automatically (e.g. between joules and kilojoules) and the decimal point automatically shifts so that three significant figures are always displayed. This means it can be used to measure from 100 nanojoules up to 1.75 megajoules without the need to make any manual adjustments. Readings are also logged, for download to a PC (if desired). The function button allows selection of the desired quantities to be measured: energy (J) and time (s); power(W); average power (W); voltage (V); current (A). To measure the energy or power in a circuit or apparatus, a battery or bench power supply should be connected to the 4mm ‘source’ terminals, and the apparatus or component being measured (e.g. a bulb or 12V immersion heater) connected to the 4mm ‘load’ terminals Cat No. Description Price Per HEM-100-110 Digital Joulemeter - Standard 99.98 ea. 3 PSU BASE POWER/ENERGY METER - LOW VOLTAGE DC This low voltage Power / Energy meter from PSU Base has a large back lit LCD display and two pairs of 4mm sockets – one pair for the input power and one pair for the ‘load’ (output) to be measured (e.g. a low voltage lamp, immersion heater etc.). The input, to power the unit and ‘load’, can be anything from 6.5 to 100 Volts DC and the load (output) can safely draw up to 20 Amps. • The voltage across the load (V) • The current flowing through the load (A) • The power dissipated by the load (W) • The amount of energy converted by the load (Watt-hour or Wh, which can be converted to Joules by multiplying by 3600) Cat No. Description Price Per HEM-450-100 Power/Energy meter - Low Voltage DC 54.88 ea. The meter can measure and display the following parameters: The meter is powered via a single micro-USB socket, either using the mains adapter (included), or by connecting to a USB socket. • Current range: ±7A (current can flow in either direction) • Voltage range: ±25V • Log memory: 2500 samples; Sample period 1, 2, or 4 seconds • Powered via 5V mains adaptor (included) or USB
