The lamp glass filters out light at 185nm wavelength, to prevent the formation of ozone. This lamp can be used for a variety of purposes, including using with TLC plates which have a UV 254 indicator, UV fluorescence of certain geological minerals and sterilisation/disinfection of surfaces and objects (such as keyboards, electronic devices, face masks etc. - a minimum of 20 seconds exposure is required) to kill 99.9% of bacteria and germs on exposed surfaces, without the need for chemicals.
