Employee Injured While Engaged in Recreational, Social, or Athletic Activities—Instruction

An injury occurring while the worker is engaged in recreational, social, or athletic activities is in the course of employment only if participation in such activities is expressly or impliedly required by the employment or is a reason able expectancy of the employment. COMMENT When to use. If there is evidence that the worker was engaged in recreational, social, or athletic activities at the time of the injury, PJC 17.5 should be added to the question and definition in PJC 17.1.
