Court fees for photostat copies o f Grants o f Probate and Administration O n a eport from a Committee the Council decided to make representations to the Minister for Justice on the subject o f the fees now charged for issuing a number o f sealed and certified copies o f Grants o f Probate or Administration required for pro­ duction to registrars o f limited liability companies. A photostat copy o f a grant without the seal may now be had for 5/6d. but registrars o f joint stock companies will not accept it. In England sealed and certified photostat copies may be had for 1/- each. The fee charged by the Irish Probate Office for a sealed and certified photostat copy is n/6d. It was decided to make representations to the Department o f Justice that where a number of sealed and certified photostat copies o f the grant only are bespoken together the fee for each should not exceed 1 /- as in England. The following was among the business trans­ acted :— Lecturer on Conveyancing and General Practice T he Council approved a report from a Committee settling the terms o f an advertisement inviting applications from solicitors for the above office which appears in this issue o f the Gazette. “ Solicitors and Estate Agents ” T he Council considered a report from a Committee on the use by solicitors o f the words “ solicitors and estate agents ” on their office notepaper. The Council held that the use of the words “ estate agents ” in conjunction with the word “ solicitors ” on office notepaper is contrary to professional etiquette. Civil Liability Bill, 1952 T he 1 ill provides that where the negligence of a plaintiff has contributed partly to damage caused blame should be apportioned between the plaintiff and the defendant according to the Admiralty Rule. It is also proposed to amend Section 4 of the Tort­ feasors Act 1951 by providing that if all the tort­ feasors liable are not before the Court the Judge or the jury ma apportion among the persons who are before the Court unless the Judge directs the addition o f any other person or persons as parties. A copy o f the r ill was received from the Department of Justice for the Council’s observations. The Council approved in principle of the Bill. The Secretary was directed to write to the Department
