I l a suffi d’un livre sur le centre Pompidou pour décider de la carrière du Hollandais Bart Akke- rhuis. Et il lui a falluunpeude culot pour décrocher un stage auprès deRenzoPiano àParis. Il enchaîne ensuite les expériences à l’étranger avant que Renzo Piano ne le rappelle et qu’il ne s’installe à Paris en 2006. « Il n’y a que la proximité avec lamer qui memanque. Comparée à Amsterdam, Paris est une ville latine, où on prend son temps, où on aime les plaisirs de la table et oùonosemontrer samauvaise humeur ! C’est génial. » Bart s’est construit une vie de village entre le 3 e et le 4 e  arrondissement. Le Grand Paris ? L’idée l’enthou- siasme (son agence a signé l’aménagement intérieur du tribunal de grande instance, avec l’agenceRenzoPiano) et il aimerait transformer le quartier de La Défense : « Il faudrait améliorer l’espace public en exploitant le potentiel des grands sous-sols de l’esplanade. » u A fter discovering a book on theCentrePompidou, Bart Akkerhuis’scareerwas decided.
