Brian Fogarty is in his third year as USD 's Associate Director of Athl etics for Athletic Devel– opment. He took over this post after spending thi rteen years as USD's head footba ll coach. He directed USD 's football program to eleven seasons of .500 or better records and gui ded thei r move from the Di vision Ill rank s to the NCAA I-AA level in 1993. His primary responsib ilit ies are with fund raisi ng, and the Jenny Craig Pav ilion capital campaign. Brian and hi s wife Vick i, who res ide in the Scripps Ranch area of San Di ego, have fo ur children: Bridget, Joe, Colleen and Megan. Wendy Guthrie Assistant Director of Athletics/SWA Wendy Guthrie is in her third year as the Ass istant Athleti cs Director, and second as Seni or Woman Admini strator. Guthrie is a 199 1 graduate of Whittier Col– a,::;;:~;;;~~~=..! selection. Upon graduation she worked as Assistant Director of Admi ssions at Whittier. She earned her Master's in Physical Educati on with a concentration in Athl eti c Admini strati on at Springfi eld College in Massachusetts. After Springfield, she he ld the position of Assistant Director o f Athleti cs at St. Francis Co ll ege in Penn sy lvani a for one year. She gained intern ati onal ex peri ence working with the Colorado Sports Council and was the Director of Awards Ceremoni es at the 1995 O lympic Festi val in Denver. basketball , golf, men' s soccer, and men's and women ' s tenni s. Yourg serves as the NCAA com– pliance coord inator for the entire USO athletic program. In add ition, he is the depart ment liaison to USD's Financial Aid Office. Yourg received his Bachelor' s (Socio logy, 1980) and Master' s (Soc ial Work , 1986) degrees from the University of Wi sconsin , where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' foo tba ll team. Dan and hi s wife Virgin ia, a USO alumnu s, are the parents of two sons, John and Thomas. Renee Wiebe Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Promotions Renee Wiebe is in her second year as Ass is– tant Director of Athl eti cs fo r Marketing and Pro– moti ons. Her previous experience in athl etics was at the Uni versity of Northern Iowa where she was Marketing and Promotions Director from 1993-95 . Prior to that she was Promoti ons Assistant at the Uni versity of Florida in Gainesville, Fl orida. She earned her Bachelor of Journali sm-B roadcast Sequence from the University of Mi ssouri -Columbia in May, 199 1. She went on to earn her Masters of Educati on with an emphasis in Sports Admini stration from Wichita State Uni versity in August, 1993 . Carolyn Greer Head Athletic Trainer Caro lyn G reer is in her twenty- first year as Sports Medic ine in 1978. Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous artic les published in a vari ety of journ als. She oversees sixteen intercoll egiate teams and approx imate ly 350 USO student-athletes on a yearly basis. T he Sports Medicine staff provides injury preventi on, imme– diate care, and rehabilitation fo r USD's interco ll egiate athl etes. Carolyn, and her husband Je ff, res ide in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, Dav id and Jason. Ted Gosen Sports Information Director Ted Gosen is in hi s 17th year serv ing as the Head Certi fied Athl eti c Trainer for the Uni versity of San Diego athletic department. ing Assoc iation Profess ional of the Year fo r the WCC. A 1983 graduate of Brown Uni versity (Biology), Steve was a two– sport letterman in football (defe nsive back) and track (long j umper). He earned hi s Master' s degree in Human Kinetics in 199 1 from the Uni vers ity o f Wi sconsin-Mil waukee. From 1983 -90 he was an assistant football coac h at Wauwatosa East High Schoo l in Wauwatosa, W isconsin , and ass isted in track in 1988. He is currentl y working on hi s Ph.D in Phys ical Educati on (focus of studies in Exercise Phys iology).

Academic Support Coordinator Sara is in her second year as USD's Aca– demi c Support Coordinator. She earned her B.A. degree in Psychology from UCLA in 1990. She held tutor and supervisor positions fo r the Athl etics Department at UCLA and also served

degree in Sports Admini strati on from St. Thomas University in Miami, Flori da. A I979 graduate of San Jose State Uni versity, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Admini stration. In addition to his S ID duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports In formation Directors of Ameri ca (CoSIDA); assists the US O Hall of Fame Comm ittee ; and teaches a bow li ng class through the recreation department. Ted and hi s wife Terri , a 1983 USO graduate, reside in Poway wit h their four daughters: Katie, Co ll een, C lai re and Erin .

After earning her M.A. in Sport Psyc hology at San Di ego State Uni versity in 1993, she accepted a posi tion as the Academic Counselor for the EOP program. Her research interests are in moti vati on, self-esteem, and exerc ise and has publi shed several articles in her fi eld.
