EVERYONE DESERVES QUALITY HEALTHCARE
FROM THE PRESIDENT: This is the time of year when we frequently hear the phrase, “to fall back, spring forward". Well, the time of day may fall back an hour, but here at Bradley we only know one direction, and that is to "spring forward". Since our last newsletter, so many of our programs and initiatives have come to fruition. As to how this all happens, we are oftentimes remiss in recognizing and thanking our wonderfully talented staff, led by our Executive Director Janine Underwood, as well as our
| PRESIDENT daily. Combined with our volunteers and donors, Bradley is truly blessed to have a team that will always be striving to "spring forward." Thank you to one and all! Randall Rhea, M.D. dedicated and outstanding Board, whose members give so much of their time and talents to ensure we can achieve our mission
FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: What makes Bradley Free Clinic amazing?
Ridge Behavioral Health Family Services, Goodwill, TAP, Turning Point, ARCH, Healthy Roanoke Valley, law enforcement, and emergency ser- vices that enables the Free Clinic to provide direct referrals, pharmacy services or health screenings for a wraparound approach to care? Is it the leadership of the Board of Directors, who selflessly provide their time and talents to serve Bradley Free Clinic in a governing role? Is it the local churches, restaurants and individuals that provide our volunteer physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists with a tasty meal served at the Clinic after an already long work day? All of these points and more are how Bradley Free Clinic continues to provide free medical, dental, mental health, pharmacy services, well- ness and educational classes to those individuals and families in our community who lack the resources for healthcare. As my predecessor Estelle Avner said many times, “the Clinic is a well-oiled machine and all the moving parts work together in unison." What an amazing machine!
Is it the energy of a dedicated group of over 250 high-quality volunteer healthcare providers, 85 future healthcare professionals, and 35 lay workers that have provided countless hours of services to the clinic and our patients? Is it our long standing donors and grantors that keep the doors of the Clinic open to the community? Is it the coordination between volunteer providers and staff, who con- tinue to discover opportunities for the development of wellness pro- grams and community outreach projects to better meet the changing needs of our patients? Is it the support from the local hospitals, Carilion, Lewis Gale Medi- cal Center, and the VA, that support the Free Clinic through volunteer providers, imaging services, financial support, specialty services for Project Access, and more? Is it the collaborative partnership with both local government and safety net agencies in the community like the Rescue Mission, Blue
