Sacopee Valley Snowdrifters Award & Lifetime Member Award

make sure there is plenty in the region they plan to visit. As of November 4 th , Governor Mills has rolled back some of the condi- tions for non residents. For now, as long as you have a negative covid test within 72 hours, you do not have to quarantine. Restaurants will be work- ing hard to accommodate riders and keep social distancing rules in place. Please be patient and courteous to wait staff and others trying to make your visit to Maine enjoyable as we welcome you to our great state. Please take note that Maine Snow- mobile Clubs, as well as Canadian Clubs, will not be grooming or main- taining any trails that connect to the border crossings. Trails will be closed Tuesday November 4 th , Scott Day, President of the Sacopee Valley Snowdrifters (SVSD) proudly pre- sented “Pat De Armott” of Hiram, Maine a “Lifetime Member Award” for 45 years of service. Just imag- ine the hard work that went into forming a snowmobile club and cut- ting snowmobile trails back in 1975 when there were no heated grips for hand-warmers and chainsaws

that weighed so much you would drag your knuckles in the snow just carrying them around. To this day, you can find Pat working to reroute and maintain the snowmobile trails that he loves. Pat De Armott, thank you for a lifetime of joining a snow- mobile club and supporting the sport of snowmobiling. John Lambert, club reporter.

US & Canadian Border CLOSED at The Time of This Newspaper Printing

At the time of this newspaper print- ing, the US and Canadian Border is closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. While this is seen as a bad thing for most, it could be a blessing in disguise for Maine and its snowmobile clubs. With many snowmobilers from all over New England and beyond, unable to make their annual trips to Canada, Maine could see an influx of non-res- ident riders. The MSA office has been inundated with calls and emails from snowmo- bilers inquiring about places all over Maine. All of them want to know where the best places to ride and stay are. We just tell them that anywhere in Maine is awesome. Just check the snow conditions before you come to

and signed as such at the last inter- section before the “border crossing trails”. Please respect these closings. Hopefully, Mother Nature will bless our state with snow from east to west and north to south to help accommo- date snowmobilers from all over enjoy our whole state. We need to welcome them and show them our Maine hos- pitality so that they will return next season and continue to keep our win- ter businesses thriving. MSA will keep snowmobilers updated with the latest guidelines from the Maine CDC and post them to our website and Facebook page so our friends from away know how to come here and enjoy Maine safely. Don’t forget, “Maine, the way life should be”
