money. You could win a 2018 Polaris Indy 550 2-up machine. Tickets are $10 each and only 500 will be sold. Please reach out to us and we’ll get your tickets to you. The drawing will be held at our club Christmas Party at the Old Saco Inn on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020. Get your tick- ets before they’re all gone! We’re also offering a free raffle ticket to anyone who joins the club for the first time. This is for a family or a business membership. Let’s get those numbers up folks. Thank you to all the new and repeat members who have joined so far this year. Your support is greatly appreciated! Hope to see you out enjoying the trails very soon! Bridget Gorton Club Secretary/Treasurer Hello Sledders, Memberships are rolling in. I wish to thank all of our family and busi- ness members for their support of the Norway Trackers Snowmobile Club. Without you, the Norway trail system would simply not exist. Also special thanks to our land owners. Already this year, we have installed two new gates and replaced another that was destroyed by an off-road vehicle for land owners who allow us to use their land. We were in jeopardy of losing these trails. Thanks to the gracious- ness of the land owners, good com- munications, and quick action the trails will remain open. Remember when riding, that most of the trails are on private land so please be respectful of the land owners. Trail work sessions are well under- way. Some of our members have been able to help out midweek also which has been a big help. We have done some excavating on a couple trails this fall. We should be able to groom the Isaiah Trail with the Tuckers now so this will be a big improvement. We are selling MSA Super Raffle tickets again this year. This is a great way to support the Norway Track- ers and the MSA. All proceeds go directly to support snowmobiling. If you would like tickets, message us on Facebook and I’ll get them to you. We are still holding meetings the first Tuesday of the month although we are not including the pot luck din- ner. Be sure to check us out on Face- book for updates on meetings, trail work and maintenance sessions. Hope everyone has a good Thanks- giving. Think snow. We ALL can hope that 2021 is MUCH BETTER!!? Just what the MSA has had to endure this year is mind bog- gling. The changing of the guard is NEVER easy and Bob and Peg had it down to a science, but to newcomers, it may all be foreign!! Whenever there is change, there always is problems, can’t be helped. My hat goes off to the new MSA “heads”, NOT an easy task. It’s unreal how this COVID “changed” our world?? SO MANY awesome small businesses went out,. My favorite eating place, the Deluxe Diner, closed its doors!!! Jody and Julie were GREAT entertainers, as well as super cooks. SO MANY of us miss that place. It was the “go to” place, and I miss all my buddies I would see there plus they were GREAT supporters of our Blessing of the Sleds!! This stinks big time. So many people lose out because of the closures. Was it ALL necessary??? Guess I’m NOT the one to ask that question to??. Let’s NOT go there!! Our club is once again guided by the same faithful officers. How David Berry, Jr. does it, year after year, the job of Trailmaster, I will never under- stand!! WHAT A LOT OF WORK FOR HIM!! Thank God he has a few also faithful folks behind him in com- pleting ALL the pre-season work. Not only our club but EVERY club in the state has such awesome volunteers! And why and how they keep doing it EVERY year is mindboggling to me. Most sledders have NO idea what goes into getting permission, cutting their trails, cleaning up all the debris from a wind storm, hours grooming, brushing, maintaining the equipment, it goes on and on. I say it every year, if you ride a sled BE SURE and thank the landowners first, then the club workers. You know who they are in your town, for crying out loud, GIVE THEMA PAT ON THEIR BACK OR AT LEAST A THUMBS UP when U seen them on the trail. It’s all they POODUNCK sc Dixfield, ME

ask. And if you know someone who is NOT a member of some club, PLEASE remind them of all that goes into keeping the trails open for them to ride. And of course, carry in, carry out is a no-brainer, BUT we all know that really isn’t the case. Those empty beer cans and oil containers just didn’t fall out of the sky!! IF YOU TAKE IT WITH YOU, BRING IT BACK. So little to ask and SO important. Think of your lawn, how would you like to wake up in the morning and find a bunch of litter on YOUR lawn??? Well, that’s what many of our land- owners find and it DOES make them unhappy!! Think about it, it’s not that tough!! Just maybe this COVID will help our season?? It sure would be a nice way for all of our clubs, with extra registrations. That is the ONLY way we can have trails now, because most of our fundraisers are done. Please join a club, give them a donation, because just our little club here in Dixfield will be short about 7 grand because of no fundraisers!! Just one major breakdown of our groomer and all our money is gone! PLEASE, PLEASE show your support for our clubs, they sure will appreciate it!! Till next time, Club reporter, J.H. The C4 Trail Maps were a great success last year with a high demand for them. We are in the process of producing this map once again this year. We are in the process of solicit- ing advertisements for the back of the maps and have eight local businesses participating this year. The maps should be available in late November. The club normally hosts a Land- owners Appreciation Dinner and social gathering annually but due to the virus this will not be possible as conducted previously. We still very much want to show our appreciation for the landown- ers so we are going to try something different this year. We are going to host a drive thru meal to go on October 24th. This way we can show our appreciation and still maintain the required proto- cols. I realize that by the time you are reading this the event will have already happened. I will send something in the next report on how this worked. Phil Crain, Club Reporter LEEDS STUMPTHUMPERS sc Leeds, ME Find us on Facebook It is that time of the year and work on the trails in beginning once again. With the recent winds there is a lot of work to be done with numerous limbs and trees to be removed. This is a lot of work but is also enjoyable just to be out in the outdoors.

Dan Trouant, club reporter SNOW PACKERS Waterford, ME Welcome back Snow Packers!! We had our first meeting of the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, October 13 th . We had a pretty good turnout and elected our officers. One noticeable change will be Treasurer. This year Bruce Bryant felt it was the right time to ease out of the Treasurer’s position into the director position. We nom- inated Danika Grindle in his place, which will be a great addition to our club. Bruce has done a tremendous job and we appreciate his dedication and countless hours spent on keeping the books for our club. Also, we voted to give Raymond Young & Young’s Lobster Pound a Lifetime member- ship for everything he has done and continues to do for our club. Many thanks go out to Raymond & family. As for trail work Trail Master Shane will be putting together some work days (Sunday’s) to repair some bridges and mark trails. We look for- ward to new members and appreciate all that have signed up and support our local club. Thank you all for what you do! See you at our next meeting on November 10 th . Check us out on Facebook Belfast Area Snow Packers windyvalleyssnowmobileclub.com Greetings from the Windy Valleys Snowmobile Club. As we are coming to the reality that fall is coming to an end, we are evaluating the trails and planning on the necessary trail work for the upcoming season. While the COVID pandemic has put a hold on a lot of activities, it hasn’t kept our guys from going out and doing the pre-sea- son trail checks, making a list and checking it twice. If you have ridden on our trails, you probably appreci- ated the nice wide and well-main- tained trails. If you are ready for the season and have some time, come and give us a couple of hours. We would appreciate your help. We meet the first Sunday of the month at 7 pm at the Newry Town Hall on Rt 26 so if you are in the area, plan on joining us. In addition to dis- cussing and scheduling the upcom- ing trail work, we always have a few laughs. Thank you to all those who continue to support our fundraiser by dropping off bottles and cans at our returnable bottle/can deposit bin located outside the Grange Hall on Route 26 for easy access. WESTERN REGION The Bridgton Easy Riders Club is maintaining its enthusiasm in spite of the COVID 19 Pandemic. While we have not been able to meet since the September 11 meeting, which was held outside, the club continues to show up to support work parties on Sunday mornings at the Bridgton Walgreens parking lot at 8AM. The work usually ends around noon time. The Crew has been going over the Tuckers in order to make sure they are ready to go. Steel has been purchased so the Club can weld a new drag in time for this season. Super Raffle Ticket Sales continue at a good pace as this will proba- bly be the only fund raiser this year. Remember, the Club gets a dollar on every sale! Progress on the Regional 9-Town Trail Map is well under way, so look for the maps before you hit the trail. This is a good time to make sure your snowmobile(s) are in good con- dition and ready for the season. While you are at it check your trailer lights, tires, (and tire pressure) and gear. It’s better to take care of those things while the weather is still cooperative. This year it’s still very important to renew your club membership, so if you need a membership application you can download it from the club’s website. Be sure to check out our Facebook page as well. Bill Preis Club Correspondent Hello again, Trail work has started and things are shaping up for a great season. Let’s hope for lots of snow this year!
