Each year Singapore American School middle school students embrace a selected theme and develop a project that can take the shape of research papers, websites, exhibitions, documentaries, and performances. These projects are entered into contests at the local and regional levels, where top entries are invited to compete at the University of Maryland at College Park. Students who take on this college level project exhibit grit and rigor as they collaborate, think critically, and learn to communicate macro themes through micro-level events.
