Take in the beautiful cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow, graced by festive seasonal decorations and nature’s own wintry adornments, and delve deep into the Russian and Norwegian Artic in pursuit of the magnificent northern lights. Enjoy first-class service and fine dining aboard the Golden Eagle as you travel across a white winter wonderland. Stops along the way include a magical snow hotel in Norway, where you can sip a warm beverage in the snow bar and admire ice sculptures and snow paintings by local and international artists. Enjoy a king crab fishing adventure followed by a roaring log fire and fresh crab dinner, and a snowmobile-drawn sleigh ride across the frozen fjords. You can make your journey as adventurous as you like with optional excursions including snowshoeing, dog sledding, and evening snowmobile tours.

DAYS 1-3 ST. PETERSBURG St. Petersburg is brimming with splendid palaces, historic monuments, tree-lined boulevards, and picturesque bridges. On a guided tour of the city, visit Catherine’s Palace in Pushkin and the Hermitage Museum, as well as the former Winter Palace of the tsars, which houses a royal art collection of over three million works. Pre-booked tickets to the ballet or opera are available. Board the Golden Eagle on Day 3. DAYS 4-6 ARCTIC CIRCLE AND NORTHERN LIGHTS Enjoy the ever- changing landscapes as you settle into your rail journey. A guest astronomer will host an afternoon tea and talk about the aurora borealis. DAYS 10-12 MOSCOW Arrive in Moscow and visit the city’s famed sites including the Kremlin and Red Square. Spend a day in the historic city of Vladimir with its beautiful cathedrals where tsars were crowned. In Suzdal, hear a performance by monks and take a horse-drawn sleigh ride. Depart on Day 12.

DAYS 7-9 RUSSIAN ARCTIC Cross the border back into Russia, with warm cookies and hot tea in hand. Visit Murmansk, a city halfway between Moscow and the North Pole, 120 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Explore the Nuclear Icebreaker Museum Ship, and then continue on to Petrozavodsk along the shores of Lake Onega—the second largest lake in Europe.
