Antarctica is hypnotically beautiful, and the best way to see it is aboard a small expedition vessel, where everyone can land at the same time. This journey takes place during the austral summer, when the sun emerges from the long winter night and the krill-rich waters teem with life. You’ll walk among rookeries of penguins and their chicks, look for spouting whales, spot Antarctic seabirds, including the fabled wandering albatross, explore by Zodiac, learn about the daring exploits of Antarctic explorers, and photograph sculpted icebergs in the ethereal austral light. All Antarctic Peninsula journeys also include options to sea kayak or camp. Expert naturalists bring the Antarctic to life as they share their in-depth knowledge and passion for this miraculous realm.

DAYS 1-4 USHUAIA TO DRAKE PASSAGE Departing from Ushuaia, cross the famed Drake Passage between Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands to the Antarctic Peninsula. As you make your way ever closer to the “white continent,” the ship’s Expedition Team will prepare you with presentations on all things Antarctic, from wildlife to expedition history. Huge albatross and Cape petrels soar above the wake of the ship, and you may also spot whales and dolphins. DAYS 5-12 ANTARCTIC PENINSULA TO USHUAIA You’ll have five exciting days to absorb the pristine beauty and extraordinary wildlife of the Peninsula. Set out for walks among thousands of penguins, explore historic outposts, look for humpback whales, and take Zodiac excursions to towering icebergs and ice floes where seals laze. Destinations may include Paulet Island, home to some 100,000 Adélie penguins, Paradise Bay, with its ice cliffs and icebergs, the narrow Lemaire Channel, where the ship navigates a stunning waterway between sheer
