THE RISK Heat exposure can occur through either; direct contact (conduction), liquids and gas including air (convection) or through electromagnetic waves (radiation). Flame risk is caused from exposure to the stream of hot, burning gas from something on fire (flames). Accidental splattering or spraying of molten metal is also a workplace risk factor.

EN ISO 14116 LIMITED FLAME SPREAD

EN ISO 14116 Protective clothing to protect against occasional and brief contact with small igniting flames reducing the possibility of the clothing burning and thereby itself constituting a hazard.

WHO IS AT RISK? Workers in industries including: electrical utilities, petrochemical, transportation road and rail, metalworking, foundries, cement works and craftspeople.
