Fiduciary Funds

Law Enforcment Officers’ Special Separation Allowance (LEOSSA) Pension Benefit Trust This fund was established to account for special separation (pension) benefits, payable semi-monthly, to qualified law enforcement officers. The City is required to provide such benefits until each qualified law enforcement officer attains age 62. The City’s contribution to this fund has been actuarially determined and will be funded by fringe benefit charges based on active police officers’ salaries.

Other Postemployment Benefit (OPEB) Trust

This fund was established to account for contributions held in trust to pay certain health and life benefits to employees following retirement, up to age 65.
