Health and Wellness

A new way to support health and wellness Thank you to the generous donors who made it a reality

T he 148 th Congress of Cor- rection made history and carved a new path for future generations to come. A proclama- tion was signed by 105 th President Dr. Lannette Linthicum to uphold the health and wellness of correc- tions officers. The proclamation states, “Now, therefore, I Lannette Linthicum, M.D., 105 th President of the American Correctional Associa- tion, do hereby declare an annual staff wellness event be held at the Congress of Correction. I encourage all of corrections, both public and private, to support staff wellness in every way possible.” Every Congress of Correction going forward will have opportunities for everyone to support the mission of the proclamation and the Health & Wellness Expo. The health and wellness of staff is an urgent concern that not only affects every area of the corrections field, but also families, communities and the country. ACA and the Congress of Correction hon- ors and wholeheartedly upholds this proclamation to support health and wellness. ACA thanks its generous donors who spearheaded this initiative at the 148 th Congress of Correction in Minneapolis. We look forward to see- ing you in Boston this August for the 149 th Congress of Correction!
