enables an easy, intuitive operation. NMI features include the display of production parameters and maintenance instructions, diagnostic functions, trends charting for process parameters with archiving function and recipe data management. The new rod breakdown line is a high output production centre. For example, a two–wire drawing line with a finish wire diameter of 2 x 2.6mm at a production speed of 24m/s can produce soft copper at a rate of eight tons per hour. Development of the BH-S wire dry cleaning system provides the ultimate combination of simplicity and effectiveness, replacing the most costly operations in wire cleaning process, including replacement of acid, ultrasonic and other wet chemicals, generating substantial cost savings, environmental benefits and improvement in productivity of clean H/C and L/C wires.

grade aluminium) and can transfer the wire automatically from full to empty spool with very high transfer safety. The SPH spoolers feature automatic spool changing and are built in two versions: The semi-automatic version is designed for manual wire handling while the fully automatic version allows for automatic wire handling. The modern MSM lines are operated by the newly designed and standardised NMI (Niehoff Machine Interface), a network-compatible colour touchscreen which features a clear task and user-orientated navigation structure and BH-S is a green dry-cleaning process of great potential used in-line in the most demanding appli- cations, allowing the highest cleaning speed with all steel wires (including 0.90%C), mechanically descaled or acid cleaned, bare or pre-coated, drawn with calcium and sodium lubricants. Applications include wire cleaning from lubricant residue, or other contaminants, prior to galvanising, metallic coatings, Al or Cu cladding, heat treatment, etc, and rod cleaning prior to drawing. a conventional process is inappropriate, especially with wires drawn upon severe conditions resulting in increased heat and burned BH-S system is particularly recommended applications for cleaning in which

The MSM rod breakdown technology developed by Niehoff has been successfully operating in the international wire industry since its introduction in 1998. MSM machines, which have seen continuous development since their initial launch, are equipped with the latest controls and drive technology offering users a vast range of benefits in terms of process technology. The controls allow wire drawing with minimal slip, resulting in high quality wire surfaces and a long operational life of the drawing tools. Energy savings of more than 20 per cent can be achieved with MSM machines in comparison with rod breakdown machines with conventional drives. Additional features include an optimised wire path, an enhanced wire cooling and lubrication system and reduced consumption of oil and drawing lubricant. The MSM 85 is built with either 450mm or 560mm diameter capstans and can be customised for wires made of copper, copper alloys, aluminium, aluminium alloys, and other special materials. The MSM 85 can be combined with the newly developed R 502 continuous resistance annealer. This annealer is designed for an annealing power of 600kW and is the most powerful annealer made by Niehoff. is guaranteed from zero to full speed operation. Due to design enhancements of the newly developed voltage control system NAC (Niehoff Annealing Controller) and the AC annealing principle, the power consumption is reduced by 20 per cent compared to state-of-the-art DC annealers. The drawing line is built in single or two-wire version and can be complemented with SND automatic double spoolers or SPH automatic single portal spoolers. The SND spoolers have been redesigned for a bigger wire range (diameters of 0.8 to 4.5mm for copper wire and 1 to 6mm for wire made of EC The electronically controlled Homogeneous wire annealing
