1. Ms. Kimble reminded members of the webinars related to App Pack 3 on August 9 th and 26 th and encouraged members to attend. 2. August 23 is the earliest date for deployment of the App Pack 3. Problems reported with app pack include reordering of content. A hot fix will be available in September. DLC association will revisit a discussion as to when to deploy it after the hotfix. v. August 15 th is the date that enrollment tool features will be turned on. At that time DLCs will need to identify whether or not the class is a BB or D2L course. vi. Audra asked that DLCs send a list to her of which courses they will offer in D2L. vii. Assessment numbers will be pulled on September 9 th and no shows should be reported by September 7 th . Assessment will be taken in two batches this fall. It will be the same fee, but will be broken into an "agency" fee and an "association" fee. Ms. Kimble will notify DLCs about the fees. viii. Ms. Kimble reminded members that the cost survey is due by Wednesday, August 3 rd . ix. Ms. Kimble announced that the Teaching Math & Science Online: Sharing of Best Practices workshop will be held at Copiah Lincoln on September 20 th . Ms. Kimble will send flyers. Instructors will need to register for this workshop. Ms. Kimble asked members to ask their faculty for support in developing these sessions in fields other than Math/Science x. Members should plan to report on their committee progress for the Strategic Plan at the next meeting. xi. Ms. Kimble asked members to go to the community discussion board and add DLC contact information. Ms. Kimble provided outlines from Mindedge for "Effective Teaching Online" and the outline that the training committee came up with for a "Certified Online Instructor." ii. Mark Smith gave an overview of the training committee meeting 1. Instructors will be introduced to both platforms but will choose which platform to use during the training 2. No instructors will be grandfathered in except those that are developing the courses. 3. Instructors will go through the courses as students so that they get a feel for what their students go through. iii. Additional courses can be added to provide more specific types of certification. iv. Ms. Kimble would like the pilot course to be ready in January 2006 with the facilitators being the first class. v. Andrea Scott made a motion to approve the outline that the training committee created for the "Certified Online Instructor Course" and Jenniffer Wamsley seconded the motion. vi. Andrea Scott agreed to work with Beverlin to build the Enrollment Tool Module vii. Mark Smith and Jennifer Leimer agreed to do the Communication/Collaboration module and the Introductions/Virtual Tours module viii. Ellene McCrimon and Kim Harris agreed to build the Design Module ix. Janice Poole and Audra Leverton agreed to build Instruction Theory x. Tish Stewart agreed to build the Computer Basics module xi. Jenniffer Wamsley agreed to build the Assessment module xii. The training committee will build a template to get started with building these modules.
