MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

1. Chad Jennings is the new sales representative. He is working very hard to re-build customer relations. 2. Chad Jennings and Audra Kimble will be developing a five-year plan for the MSVCC relationship with Blackboard that will be presented to the Presidents' Association. 3. MSVCC has been identified as a high-risk client. If our account manager or the support team gets a call from Audra, we are to have a response within an hour. 4. BB will begin offering webinars for MSVCC. Dates will be provided soon. 5. Chad would like to hold a conference call for all members on Friday, February 10 th at 9:30. 6. Director of Quality Assurance has been very involved with test manager issue. Audra will be meeting with him weekly. 7. BB is looking at a providing a better backup process since this seems to be part of the speed problem. 8. Provide a list to Ms. Kimble of "Top 10" issues with Blackboard. iii. Reporting Issues 1. To report a student related issue, send to Beverlin. Include student ID details. 2. To report a course related issue, send to Audra. Please send very detailed information regarding the issue. Include the course ID, location of the test, name of test, screen captures of problem etc. The more information that is provided, the quicker a resolution can be found. iv. Enrollment Tool Requests 1. Ms. Kimble demonstrated some of the enrollment tool changes on the training site. v. Help Desk 1. Ms. Kimble has a monthly meeting with the project manager to review activity. 2. Ms. Kimble showed a report of the activity thus far. 3. Presidium is preparing reports for each college to show where specific problems at each college are. 4. Please let your presidents know what you think about Presidium. vi. Condensed Term 1. MGCCC will run a spring short-term from March 6 - April 28 2. If you are considering offering a condensed term for the fall, please let Ms. Kimble know. vii. Training Course 1. Review: Members need to review the modules in the training course during February. The course will be turned over to an instructional designer in March. 2. Instructional Designer: Ms. Kimble has spoken to RCU about doing the instructional design, but has not made any decisions. Ms. Kimble will continue trying to locate an instructional designer. 3. Facilitator applications will be due by March 1. 4. Ms. Kimble suggests that members discuss the training course with college presidents, instructional deans or other deciding parties about how it will be implemented at their institution. 5. Members should review the modules and make notes to be sent to Andrea for compilation and discussion at the next meeting. Members should be prepared to present (explain the layout) their modules at the next meeting. viii. "How to Master" Training 1. Ms. Kimble provided a handout from East MS Center for Educational Development that is offering courses for instructors for $25 until October. Distribute to
