b. Complex Hosting

i. Test Courses – To complete the scripts for the ten test courses will take about four hours. The testing should be accomplished in the last two weeks of July. Ms. Kimble will send more information. ii. Down Time – In order to make the updates, the BB server will be down around August 4-10. Ms. Kimble will notify members of the exact dates. c. MSVCC Training Course i. Kim Harris has been working on the site, but is still waiting for information from some. Some members of the association agreed that the content has not yet been adequately proofed. Ms. Kimble suggested that we ask a small focus group to thoroughly examine the course before we run the first group of facilitators through the course. Members agreed. The reviewers will begin looking at the finished product

on the 1 st of September. Association members will look at the course after the reviewers have made their suggestions, and we hope to run the first facilitators through the course in the spring.

d. MSVCC Calendar

i. Audra will distribute a calendar of professional development workshops in August.

e. Collaboration Meeting

i. Ms. Kimble reminded members about the collaboration meeting between SBCJC, IHL, and MDE that will be held on August 8 th . Members are encouraged to attend. Memorandum of Agreement i. The MSVCC Memorandum of Agreement has been sent directly to college presidents. A survey was included that needs to be completed. The MOA needs to be signed and sent along with the survey back to SBCJC. g. Assessment Figures i. Ms. Kimble reported that assessment figures are still being determined. Ms. Shows asked when these figures will begin being based on audit numbers. Ms. Kimble stated that this is not likely to happen very soon and that members should speak to their presidents if they would like to see a change. h. Reporting Issues i. Ms Kimble reminded members to contact her for issues related Blackboard or D2L and to contact Ms. Givens for enrollment tool issues or to creat users in Blackboard. i. Course ID Schemes i. Beverlin reminded members to contact her for new course creations. f. i. Tish Stewart expressed a concern about classes being cancelled during add/drop. She and other members would like to see a deadline set for cancelling classes. Members agreed to make cancellations by no later than noon of the last day of registration. However, members are encouraged to communicate as soon as possible to other DLCs if classes look like they won’t make. b. What’s New in Blackboard i. Jennifer Leimer expressed that students were being confused by the “What’s new” option in Blackboard. Members agreed that it should be removed. In addition, Ms. Leimer asked that the default setting for Desire2Learn be set to expand the course listing. Other a. Cancelling Classes
