MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

Enrollment Tool:

Ive Barnett was present at the discussion on the new suggested changes for the enrollment tool.

1. Tish Stewart suggested Item 1 for grades querry at the bottom of the final grade submission. Ive said that is was possible. What role needs to review list was asked, Holmes said it does not matter. Who had submitted final grades. DLC’s and Registrars were suggested to see this piece of information.

2. Discussion of copy information instead of typing it twice.

3. Add Data filed Course Term so you don’t have to exit and enter the course

4. Downloadable file needs to be fixed

5. Discussed on how to display all of college courses offered in one list in real time. Discussed changing the visitor site and put in a drop down box for each community college.

Ive said they would be ready in 2 weeks to be tested (Nov. 20) Expected date of deployment is 12/17

New Business:

Jennifer Leimer brought up the different log ins, snapshot takes them into Bb, but D2L has not got a log in. It was suggested that they could be the same. Jennifer will batch upload any students for those classes. The issue is two different logins. Discussion was held on how the students need to log in. It was decided to use the first initial, last name, last four digits of either the social security number of student id depending on the host school. It will be the old log in.

Audra discussed important dates.

Snapshot run dates were repeated.

Enrollment Tool Roles that were discussed. It was voted to give a Dean role to look at things, but not to build. Give the DLC assistant selected items. Survey info is open to the registrars. Changes will go to the Presidents to be approved before implemented. Changes will be typed up by Audra and sent to Beverlin.

Strategic plans need to be typed up by Audra Leverton and reported to the Presidents.

Audra reported that it may take a while to replace her and the interim plans were given to the DLCs.

Hubert volunteered to send a document from Bb on how to read the errors.

2 webinars for the Ticketing system from Persidium will be held. Dates???

December 3 is the date to send courses archive list to Marilyn. Still encourage the instructors to archive their own courses. Safe assign and Scholar were supposed to be deployed but have not been yet. Terry will check with Phil on this issue.
