MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

computer. The outbox files shows date and time that the files were processed. Each folder contains four different categories of files. (1) Snapshot as they were sent up to Bb, end in .txt files (2) Files processed by identity manager, end in .virtual. (3) Error Logs, end in .invalid. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you have errors. (4) A summary of the snapshot run, end in controller.log). This file is emailed to each of you each time the snapshot runs. The email addresses that we use for the summary files are saved at Bb. If that data changes, you just need to contact Stacey. Error Code Categories: (1) AK1 Error – This can be for users and courses. It means that the external key that was sent up to Bb already exists in the database and you are sending it up again and it is in conflict. User, this violation occurs when you attempt to create a new user with an external person key that already exists in the database. Courses – occurs when you attempt to create a new course with an external course key that already exists in database Example: AK1 – “unique constraint (BB_BB60.Course_Main_AK1) violated” / “course id is immutable: 206.20081.SOC2133RO”  The error indicates this course already exists with a different course id. The course id cannot be modified after the course has been created. If the course shell has not yet been used, you can delete the course from the GUI (it will be re-created by snapshot with the new course id).  Tish said that when removing courses in banner she used to go in and remove the course from Banner. Now she goes in and makes the course unavailable, rather than delete the course. Hubert mentioned that you cannot use the old CRNs.  Jennifer Newell had a problem with all virtual classes for the fall. She asked if there were any other options? They ran into a problem in the fall and they ended up having to delete the courses and start again. Stacey & Usha said that they could convert the course IDs on their end, but they preferred not to handle that this way. They would need a list of the old course IDs and a list of new course IDs. (2) AK2 Error – User attempt to create a new user with a user id of a user that already exits; courses – create a new course with a user id that already exits. Example: AK2, “No data found” – “unique constraint (BB_BB60.Users_AK2) violated / no data found  The error indicates an AK2 error so this user id already exists in the database, but with a different External Person Key (EPK)  Determine why the EPK has changes in the SIS; correct in the SIS if possible  The user id will continue to be disabled by snapshot until the conflict is resolved. (3) Others (PK1, FK1, FK2) – Relationship files. For enrollments of assignments, etiehr the course key or person key does nto exist. For roles the external person key does not exist, for catlinks the category or external course key does not exist. Example: PK1 Error, “Cannot insert Null” – cannot insert NULL into (BB_BB60).Course_Users”. “CRSMAIN_PK1) / 200.20091.604616 does not exist  The error indicates course (EXTERNAL_COURSE_KEY) does not exist  Is the ECK correct in the enrollment file  Is the course in the COURSES snapshot files sent to Bb
