LEARNING CIRCLE a. UPDATE i.

Jennifer Leimer provided the group with an agenda, minutes from June meeting, and a copy of the Enrollment Tool request. ii. Before she left last fall, Audra Kimble and the association starting a learning circle time at each of the meetings. This is a short presentation on articles that pertain to e- learning or the sharing of ideas. Presentations are done in order of college. Coahoma and Co-Lin presented last year, so Tish (Holmes) will present at the August meeting and Audra (HINDS) will present in September. Terry Pollard did a quick video presentation on the Wimba product. The video included schools across USA and Canada that use Wimba. Some of the institutions included use Wimba in a blended environment, some with online course, and others for professional development purposes. APPROVAL OF AGENDA a. Phyllis Johnson asked that we add a Question & Answer topic to all future agendas. At this time we can discuss best practices. READING OF MINUTES a. The minutes were provided via email, along with the meeting agenda. The group was also provided a copy of the minutes to review at today’s meeting. b. Audra Leverton made the motion to accept June 2008 minutes; Jackie Bailey-Hall seconded the motion. Minutes were approved as presented. COMMITTEE REPORTS Jennifer asked that the committee chairs provide committee reports at each DLC meeting a. BEST PRACTICES i. Terry Pollard covered the Best Practices Report (handout provided to the group). Please refer to the handout for detailed information. a) Terry will mail the spring Teaching Effectively Online certificates to each of the DLC offices. The DLCs will then provide to their faculty. He will also include the instructor mailing addresses. ii. AT&T GRANT – they have received several applications for varying courses. The application deadline is at the end of July. We are very excited about the applications that we have already received and are looking forward to receiving more. They have someone working on the Logo Design for the AT&T Institute for our website. iii. UPDATE ON E-LEARNING TOOLS – We are currently behind on getting building blocks installed. They are looking forward to discussing these building blocks at next week’s Bb World Conference. Currently looking at Copyright Clearing Center, Pronto, and Learning Objects. Building blocks will be installed on the staging server after the Service Pack 2 installation has occurred. They will then run tests before it b. ARTICLE PRESENTATION i.
