MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

k. Thanksgiving Holidays: mostly everybody will be out that week of Thanksgiving except: MCC, MGCC, SWMCC, Hinds, Jones, NWMCC, and ICC they will be open Nov. 23-24 th , SBCJC Nov.26th-27 th . l. Holly provided an update on SACS: Holly stated the SACS representative wanted to have access to four courses. SACS did a comparison between traditional and online classes. Also, they checked if the online courses being evaluated same way as to traditional, communication ratio with students-to-students, faculty-to-students and live online interaction. Sent an email to DLC to get access to course. Holly Melvin provided plenty of documentation for Distance Learning. m. Christian wanted to know if we would like to have to have Amy Thornton to come to our November 10 th DLC meeting and discuss a partnership pilot of Wimba at the end of the term. Tish stated we needed to look at the agenda before we can confirm.
