MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

 Retention and Graduation Committee - Christian o With focus on graduation rates, it is important to look at graduation rates for students taking online classes. o Committee will be developed to research matriculation statistics for online students only. Would like student services, elearning, academic deans, college president, learning labs etc. to participate. o Email christian thoughts on what I think makeup of committee should be. Send names of potential committee members. o Also send goals for committee.  MCCB.EDU - Christian o Effective now, but permanently changing on January 1. Domain name will be changing. www.mccb.edu. email addresses will change also. Ex: cpruett@mccb.edu elc@mccb.edu Audra presented updates on the status of the support committee strategic plan. o Particular attention was paid to statistics on Presidium support. o Audra reminded association members that anyone who has proctors should have them sign the confidentiality agreement. o Buffy asked members to ask instructors to provide students with a link to Respondus lockdown browser. o Buffy asked members to ask instructors to update syllabus and textbook information.  Three contracts expire June 30 2012, Wimba, Turnitin and Presidium. Will need to look at options or possible alternatives by January.  Open Forum o Krista Lebrun - short term dates. Fall last day to withdraw falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Buffy recommended that the deadline be pushed back to the following Monday. More discussion will be needed to make sure dates are aligned and everyone is following same dates. o Terry Pollard - course imports/exports/copy etc. Asked members to think about how you would like to change this...whether these tools are turned off (for all, for some, for certain time frames etc.). Would like to have a decision soon so that testing can happen at least 30 days prior to the term and in place by Spring 2012. Import/Export is more reliable than course copy. o Send D2L tutorials to Lily.  Support Committee Report - Audra Leverton o

 October 24th - MSVCC Registration Opens  November 16th - ELC Meeting in Hattiesburg - President's conference room o Christian would like for Canvas by Instructure to come and present at November meeting. o Bb Contract ends June 30th 2013. Would need recommendation by June 2012.
