Committee Reports a. Administration – Tish Stewart-Present @ October Meeting

Christian said that we will be discussing the strategic plans (2012-2017) for each committee during the November meeting. It is important that the committee chairs update the strategic plan tables in their area. The objectives that have been met need to be marked off.

Policy and Procedures manual will be updated and sent to the Academic Deans for approval.

Open Forum

a. Self-paced Courses. Jennifer Leimer wanted to know if there is a statement or section in the Policy and Procedure manual that discusses self-paced courses. Alicia said that we don’t have a section in the Policy and Procedure manual that says officially that we can or cannot have self- paced online courses. The policy will have to be made at the individual colleges. Currently, none of the colleges offer self-paced online courses.

Canvas (Instructure) LMS will present to us at the November meeting. We will look at this system as an alternative to Bb and D2L. June 30, 2012 The ELCs need to make a decision about the LMS no later than June 30, 2012. Christian is planning to hire a consultant that will help us make the decision about our LMS. d. Jan.-A request was made to have the ELC meeting north of Jackson, possibly Holmes-Grenada campus. The location and date is still in discussion.
