v. Krista LeBrun/Audra Kimble: eLearning Grants

1. Audra and Krista passed out seven page handout listing purpose, considerations and other criteria regarding MSVCC Innovative Learning & Design (MILD) Grant Program. The purpose of the grant supports the MSVCC strategic initiatives and aids in purchases, assistance, fees and travel. $10,000 will be awarded to each institution per fiscal year. The purpose of the cycle also ensures each college is learning from each other. One day will be set aside to serve colleges for MILD workshops to go over outcomes before sharing with the group. According to Krista, the money will be awarded to institutions through the Community College Foundation. Business office or budget officers should not include with general fund. More planning and discussion need to take place before moving forward with Presidents. Audra stated that this should not be dubbed an eLearning grant; refer to it as an Instructional Technology Grant. Administrative Committee made recommendation to accept MILD grant; Christa Wilhite seconded motion. Motion carried. i. Steve Watson, Associate Professor and Terry Pollard, Assistant Professor, School of Health Related Profession (SHRP) - discussed the programs that are offered through the 2+U Program. Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Presidents for this program four years ago. The program allows the student to stay at their college; afterward, complete four year degree program at UMMC. They are reaching out to CJC's to build a better relationship and provide opportunity for students in particular programs for specific licensure degrees (degree completion) in the healthcare field. Audra stated that Presidents are aware of this program and suggested marketing the idea on Distance learning website. b. Public Calendar i. Audra discussed begin and end date for all 19 terms that have already been sent out (Summer 2015-Spring 2017). She had requests for next calendar year, but the mini term schedule and other information may change. It was decided that only the start and end dates of all terms would be provided on the MSVCC public calendar. It would be up to each college to provide more specific term dates to their staff and students. MCCB Business a. UMMC 2+U Program(s) Presentation approximately 30 minutes i.
