Dignity Health Foundation supports local health initiatives. The Dignity Health Foundation is a public charitable foundation that partners with communities to raise funds to support our mission and advance our impact. To further our mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered health care, our foundations are also working to improve the communities around them by adapting funding and initiatives to meet local needs. Current foundation initiatives include Brainbook, Canine Kindness, Human Trafficking, PostpartumDepression, and Project T.E.A.M. which enhances traditional asthma management strategies. I am the executive sponsor for the Brainbook initiative. I am very passionate about this initiative, as my own daughter, Courtney, has suffered several concussions playing soccer.
Dr. Javier Cardenas, a Dignity Health neurologist and nationally recognized concussion expert in our Arizona- based Barrow Neurological Institute, has created Brainbook—a concussion education tool for high school athletes, It helps kids understand the risks associated with head injury. The tool has been so successful in Arizona that every high school student must take it prior to participating in high school sports. The Brainbook program is now being expanded to California. To learn more and to donate to Brainbook and other Dignity Health initiatives, visit the Dignity Health Foundation page . Thank you for your continued support of our health care ministry.
