Heading for neutral Our CO journey 2

The climate crisis is a global threat that will affect everyone on the planet. SWEP contributes by producing energy- efficient, sustainable technology, but we also work hard to minimize the environmental impact of our operations and production. One way we do this is by monitoring, reducing and offsetting our emissions. In 2017 SWEP decided to embark on a journey towards becoming a carbon neutral organization by no later than 2030. We commissioned Carbon Footprint Ltd to develop a calculation methodology to help us understand the volume and sources of emissions from our business activities. Based on the input from Carbon Footprint Ltd., we decided to focus on the areas where we could make the biggest impact – electricity use across our sites, and fuel consumption from both business travel and distribution. The figures quoted here are taken from Carbon Footprint Ltd.’s Sustrax Verification Report unless otherwise stated. Business travel by air As a global company we strive to stay close to our customers, and we have moved towards a ‘smart traveling’ approach in recent years. We have developed a metric to monitor our travel behavior, and promoted digital meetings as an alternative whenever possible.

It all adds up Our key performance indicator is the amount of CO e 2 (carbon dioxide equivalent) that we emit for every kg heat exchanger we produce. We are pleased to announce that this figure decreased by 13.42% during 2019. Our goal is, of course, to reach carbon neutrality by 2030. It is an ambitious target, and we are delighted that we are making progress!
