Tremendous success for Tube Southeast Asia

San Phung, Thermatool Corp, said “Tube Southeast Asia presented us with opportunities.... We will definitely exhibit again in 2009”

Tube and wire Southeast Asia 2007 celebrated a very successful inauguration last October, providing an excellent boost to the region’s tube, pipe, wire and cable industries. The trade fairs attracted 7,038 trade visitors from more than 60 countries. According to the organisers Messe Düsseldorf Asia, 33 per cent of visitors came from overseas with a significant number from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea and the Middle East. Over 380 exhibiting companies from 30 countries including national and group pavilions from Austria, China, France, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, UK and USA occupied a gross space of 15,000m 2 . The trade fairs were opened by Khun Chakramon Phasukavanich, the permanent secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Industry. Khun Chakramon asserted in his opening address that the hosting of wire and Tube Southeast Asia in Bangkok was “indeed timely with Thailand’s aspiration to be ‘The Hub of Asia’” . He also stated that both trade fairs “provide avenues for the various business sectors to work closely to tap the potential arising from the regional integration initiatives as well as Thailand’s own initiatives with existing and potential trading partners.” Khun Chakramon concluded that “Thailand is an exciting growth market in Asia and enjoys a strategic location at the heart of Asia.” Messe Duesseldorf Asia’s managing director, Mr Gernot Ringling, reiterated these

views saying “Thailand’s central location within the region is opening more trade and investment opportunities.” He also stated that the region’s affluence bodes well with the staging of both the wire and tube trade fairs in Thailand. Many exhibiting companies expressed their satisfaction with the trade fairs. Mr Andrew Service, export sales manager, Corrosion

Materials (represented in Thailand by JJ Advanced Products (Thailand) Co Ltd), said “Our objective to exhibit was to provide support to our agent in Thailand. We were impressed with the size of the show and have received a lot of interest.” San Phung, executive director (Asia Pacific), Thermatool Corp, com- mented “Tube Southeast Asia presented us with opportunities to not only meet new customers but
