25 UNCHARTED FACTS

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception heralds Admiral Ackbar’s infamous “It’s a trap!” line, in the secret library. Swimming in the original Uncharted was going to be controlled by tilting the sixaxis controller, but this had to be cut due to time constraints. In the series' backstory, as a child, Nathan’s mother committed suicide and his father relinquished his care to the Saint Francis Boys’ Home where he was taught Latin by nuns. A Precursor Orb, another reference to Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter series, can be found during the game's story by Drake. Graham McTavish provides the voice of Zoran in Uncharted 2 , and can also be seen as the Dwarf Dwalin in the Hobbit films. Troy Baker will voice Sam – Nate’s brother – in Uncharted 4: AThief's End , and has previously voiced Far Cry 4 villain Pagan Min, appeared on the Halo 5: Guardians series Hunt the Truth, and worked on another of Naughty Dog’s better-known projects – The Last of Us . Uncharted 2 holds 41 perfect review scores and over 200 Game of the Year awards globally. There is an Uncharted movie in the works, scheduled for release in 2017 Uncharted 2 is the highest rated of the series on IMDB and Metacritic.

There is a newspaper in a bar in Uncharted 3 that warns of a “deadly fungus”. It's an easter egg for the yet- to-be-announced The Last of Us that should have been removed prior to the game’s release, but wasn't.

A prequel was released for PlayStation Vita called Uncharted: Golden Abyss , as well as the Fight for Fortune trading card game. Multiplayer was first introduced in the second game, as either co-op or competitive. Author Christopher Golden wrote the novel Uncharted:The Fourth Labyrinth , and is now penning a series of Sons of Anarchy adaptations. Although Nolan North and Emily Rose provide both the voice acting and the motion capture for their respective roles. Tenzin is voiced and acted by two different people – Pema Dhondup provides the voice and Robin Atkin Downes provides all the stunts. One of the inspirations for the Tibetan village sequence in Uncharted 2 was the 2008 video game The Graveyard  by Tale of Tales. Uncharted 3 ’s assets almost filled a 25TB HDD

Over 130,000 people participated in the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta, covering players from 135 countries all over the world. Over 30,000 cans of soda and one bottle of bourbon were consumed during the two years of production on Uncharted 2 . Between the 100-plus “Dogs” working at Naughty Dog, they have over 16 nationalities and ten languages represented. The company has always had at least one dog “mascot” since the studio began.

Nolan North is the voice of Nathan Drake.

Elena Fisher is voiced by actress Emily Rose, known for her role as Audrey Parker in the Stephen King Colorado Kid adaptation Haven. The scuba kit worn by Nathan and Elena has “OTTSEL” written on the front – the species of fictional mammal that Daxter (from Jak and Daxter) is turned into.
