A. Summary of the Method

The goal of the method is to rapidly screen samples using HPTLC for the detection of flavokavains (A, B and C). As the hepatotoxic effect of some kava preparations is possible due to the amount of flavokavain B (FKB), the authors calculated the FKB/kavalactones ratio in different cultivars. The method was published in "Food Chemistry" in 2014.
