WIRELINE ISSUE 28 SUMMER 2014
A global leader in subsea well intervention
Helix Well Ops UK will increase its fleet of well intervention assets in late 2016 with the introduction of Q7000, a DP class 3 semisubmersible. The heavy intervention, work-over and well decommissioning rig will expand the firm’s service and capabilities in Europe and Africa, and enhance the service offering of its existing fleet of mono-hull light well intervention vessels – MSV Seawell, Well Enhancer and Skandi Constructor. Helix Well Ops UK is committed to providing E&P operators with non-MODU based solutions for heavy well intervention, well work-over and end of field well decommissioning. Efficiency and operational excellence are at the centre of this. Q7000 is a purpose-built unit with modular handling systems. Key features include dedicated wireline and coiled-tubing units for well intervention, which maximises efficiency in operations. This means that Q7000 will offer between 30-60% time savings over a conventional MODU when performing similar tasks, additionally, without the costs of towing/anchor handling, supply and stand-by vessels.
