Investing in hi-tech CCTV camera equipment UK firm CountyClean Environmental Services, which specialises in helping customers ranging from domestic premises to blue-chip companies with their waste management needs, has boosted its fleet of specialist vehicles by investing in the latest CCTV equipment. footage is viewed and recorded on a computer, which is housed in a specially equipped vehicle, before being transmitted back to the office where it can be quickly downloaded for the client. Special wheels and steering enable the ‘crawler’ to navigate past debris, through broken pipes and up inclines. The camera has a pan, tilt and zoom function and produces detailed colour images. Unlike some other systems, CountyClean’s new unit is environ- mentally friendly and uses a battery that is charged while the vehicle is being driven. It also means that there is very little noise, so the system can be used at night in residential areas. The battery, which is built into the seats of the vehicle, can last for up to nine hours.

The company’s investment follows the recent purchase of an Aquavac Super Combination Unit, one of the most powerful vehicles available, which will enable staff to tackle even the most difficult cleaning jobs quickly and efficiently. The new system includes a crawler- mounted camera that allows drain experts to inspect potentially hazardous areas from a safe access point. Live

The new CCTV unit is one of the best in its class and meets the UK specification for drainage surveys and MSCC4. WinCan V8 software is used to create the reports required from the available footage. CountyClean has invested more than £100,000 in the equipment, which is invaluable when working with clients such as Clancy Docwra who require CCTV exploration of drains and sewers carried out as quickly and safely as possible. The footage can often identify future problems or the requirement for emergency works.
