Specialist Locks
PHLEXICARE RADAR KEY SCHEME Disability Rights UK (formally RADAR) promotes a U.K. national scheme, whereby specially manufactured locks are fitted to toilets and can only be operated using a RADAR key. These are available to disabled or registered blind people to enable them to access the facilities. This gives protection against vandalism or misuse, so that a clean functional toilet is available Note: RADAR locks are basic system and are not designed as or intended for use as a high security lock Operation The lock is operated from the outside using a RADAR key. Once inside, the door is locked by lifting the lever upwards. (N.B. keys will not unlock door when the indicator shows red). On exiting, the door is opened by pushing the lever down Phlexicare 5th Generation RADAR Lockset • Size: 204 x 41mm • Return to door extended cranked safety lever handle to comply with BS 8300 • External privacy indicator with external emergency coin release • Reversible latch bolt for inward or outward opening doors • Bolt through fixings to prevent lock being removed for the outside • Supplied with 6 lever mortice lock, comfort key & all fixings
