Some series are a breezy watch, while others require complete attention. When darkly comedic hacker drama Mr. Robot arrived it almost defined that latter camp, and things don’t let up for a moment in this second season. Stepping away from the high-rise streets of New York, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) swaps her ruby hat for scarlet sunglasses and relocates to sunny Los Angeles. The case that warranted her move involves investigating how a murder victim was found embedded in a frozen lake during a heatwave. How odd and otherworldly that sounds… One part noir and two parts crime drama, this season continues the thrilling heroics that made us love Agent Carter in the first place, while introducing a Big Bad that the previous season lacked. with the ‘Phase Two’ manoeuvrings of the Dark Army... One of Mr. Robot ’s biggest aces is how it has you constantly questioning what’s real and what’s not. This dynamic is still very much at play in season two, so be prepared to pay close attention. AF

Twelve months without a new Doctor Who episode was tough. Fortunately, the 2016 Christmas Special will tide Whovians over until Season 10 airs in April.
